Subject: Handling Angry or Difficult Customers

I wanted to take the time to remind everyone of our professional business etiquette standards that are required to be upheld by all employees. Listen carefully with interest and put yourself in their place. Ask questions in a caring, concerned manner and listen carefully to their answers. Then suggest one or two alternatives to answer their concerns. Always apologize without blaming customer even if you personally aren’t to blame. If you can’t solve the problem at hand, find someone who can. Remember the “golden rule” : Treat others as you would want to be treated.
